Hitting the Gym in Fresh (and Safe) Style

We know. First the gloves, then the masks, and now safety shields for all? It’s beginning to look like somewhat of a dystopian world on the High Street, but some retailers like Athletic Propulsion Labs (APL) are making the most of it, blending function, fashion, and CSR.

The specialist footwear and apparel brand for active people is rewarding shoppers who pick up a new pair of shoes at its Los Angeles store with a free (and APL-branded) personal protection shield. So when gyms and yoga studios do re-open, or simply for dynamic walks around the neighborhood, users will be able to wear the shield over their mask and focus on their workout instead of worrying about COVID-19.

The GWP will end on May 31, but APL will continue to hand out shields for the community good. It will be donating shields to medical and essential workers at the Keck Hospital of USC, the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and Erewhon Markets, among other recipients.
